Compostable Bags
Download CatalogueWhy Compostable bags are essential?
The frequent use of Plastic bags results into indiscriminate littering and dumping of Plastic Waste which being non-biodegradable persist in Mother Nature for hundreds of years thus causing several Environmental issues like imparting infertility in soil, improper incineration of plastic bags pollutes the air and releases toxic substances in soil, causing death of animals through ingestion , and most importantly the additives and colors used during manufacturing processes have potential of reaching out heavy metal and other chemicals compounds and that may contaminated soil and ground water quality. Plastic litter also lead to clogged drains, insanitation, flooding and sewage problems. These concerns have caused Governments across the World to introduce the replacement of Petroleum based Plastic products with the Biodegradable corn-starch products.

What is Bio-material?
Compostable Bags product is made of Corn-Starch Modified Resin consisting of bio-waste material with slight scent of Corn-Starch comprising of :
1. PBAT – Poly Butyrate Adipate Terephatalate – material derived from sugar present in corn-starch which helps in acquiring flexibility & resilience of product and has been proved to be fully Composted, high Stability & Compostable properties.
2. PLA – Poly Lactic Acid or Poly Lacticide Acid – material derived from renewable resources such as corn-starch, sugarcane & tapioca roots which helps in faster degradation of our products.
Compostable Bags – from Cardle to Cradle
Compostable Biodegradable Bags undergoes degradation by biological process, during composting yield CO2, water, inorganic compounds and biomass at a rate consistent with other known compostable materials and leave no visible, distinguishable or toxic residue that can improve the soil quality and reduce the loss of land by composting. Inappropriate warehouse conditions, or on the shelf of supermarket with goods sealing, they could maintain their physical properties for 9-12 months.
Compost Degradation of Bio-degradable Products
Biodegradable Compostable Bags are as per following norms:
(ii) VINCOTTE – Standards for OK Biobased .
(iii) BPI – American Standards for Compostable.
(iv) ASTM D6400 -British Standards for Compostable Plastics.
(vi) ISO 17088 : 2012 – Specifications for Compostable Plastic.
(vii) CIPET – Central Institute of Plastic Engineering & Technology, India.
